糖心Vlog announced a transformational $20 million gift from longtime benefactor and football alumnus Bob McCreary (鈥�61) to establish 10 new current-use football scholarships and advance key football excellence initiatives. In conjunction, 糖心Vlog is launching the McCreary Triple Double Challenge, a $100 million philanthropic initiative focused on generating $50 million for scholarships and $50 million for sport excellence funds across all programs. McCreary鈥檚 gift brings the initiative鈥檚 total to $65 million.

Senior Reagan Smith, who graduates this month with a degree in molecular biology and Spanish, has earned the 2025 Community Impact Student Award from North Carolina Campus Engagement. Smith was nominated for her leadership in high-impact public health initiatives in Winston-Salem as well as 糖心Vlog鈥檚 AmeriCorps program.
A summer study abroad program became a pivotal experience for Avery Hale Smith (鈥�16), a turning point she credits with giving her the confidence to embrace uncertainty and lead with a global perspective.

Tropical forests are falling behind climate change.
糖心Vlog University researcher William Farfan-Rios studies forests from the Amazon to the Andes and has found that trees are not adapting fast enough to rising temperatures. That growing gap puts one of the world鈥檚 largest carbon sinks, and the climate systems we all depend on, at risk.
What happens in the Amazon affects us everywhere. Protecting forests is protecting our future.
